Hello guys, we are living in a difficult time, where our main mission is just to stay home, and that is what we should do, we stop a little with shows and festivals for the next months, but how about remembering some of the festival experiences that we already have and would like to share. Follow below on my list of the three unforgettable shows that have ever been.Rock in Rio 2017
(Rio de Janeiro - Brazil - September / 2017)
The day of the festival was unforgettable, because it was simply the day when I saw the legends playing live, and in high quality and enthusiasm. Gather a group of friends and when the gates opened they were able to hear some Brazilian bands that were part of our childhoods playing giving a good feeling of nostalgia, band they are 'Cidade Negra' and 'Titãs', in the late afternoon they already managed to hear bands internationals warming up that crowd, while taking a quick break to have a snack, we could already hear CeeLo Green singing his hit “** ck You”, at that moment there was already a rock city (as the place is called) partially full, ending the break we went to the main stage, because what to expect in the next few minutes was Incubus, The Who and Guns n 'Roses. When Incubus came on stage, there was all that nostalgia for the hits of the 2000s and songs that knew a lyric easily, a little later it was a special moment for everyone who was all present, The Who was going to enter the stage, 1964 band performing for the first time time in Brazil was something remarkable all, after 53 years waiting for a show that there was no lack of voice to sing along with a classic band like “Behind Blue Eyes”, “Pinbal Wizard” and “Baba O'Riley”. After this show and without a voice, waiting for Guns n 'Roses, as expectations were low, a band came in a sequence of shows in ruins, with a little delay and always late, however, Axl Rose, Slash and Duff McKagan broke all bad expectations and made an unforgettable 3 and a half hours show non-stop, it was the longest live show ever, playing 32 songs, and had no time to rest it was hit after hit, you can hear the setlist of this night (https: //www.setlist.fm/setlist/guns-n-roses/2017/parque-olimpico-rio-de-janeiro-brazil-2be27896.html), it is also not an item considered the best end show week.SWU 2010
(São Paulo - Brazil - November / 2010)
There are several factors that can make a festival unforgettable, among them a big factor when the first festival that I would attend live. In 2010, I decided on my first festival, I was only 15 years old, totally dependent on my parents to be able to travel, without much money, but decide to embark on this adventure. The SWU festival was the festival that was starting that year, and its main music and public awareness in sustainability, or the day I had seen names like Linkin Park, Incubus, Queens of the Stone Age, Avenged Sevenfold, Tiesto, among others . I went out with my family in the late afternoon from Rio de Janeiro to São Paulo, but during a trip everything went wrong, lost a lot of time, or caused me a delay to arrive at the Festival, I was already very sad and with tears in my eyes because he would lose the band he most wanted at the time (Avenged Sevenfold), until today he has not had the opportunity to see them. When I arrived at the Queens of the Stone Age festival playing “Go With the Flow” and then “No One Knows”, it was just amazing, it filled my eyes with sparkle, it was love at first sight, in the first international band I was seeing live . Soon after, he started playing Pixies classics like “Here Comes Your Man” and “Where Is My Mind”, a song that you listen to all your life, after Pixies, enters the stage Linkin Park with 4 albums with huge hits, that show that you managed to sing all the songs, jump and get emotional, and it became an unforgettable show for me, because it was my first festival and I had the opportunity to watch live the voice of Chester Bennington who passed away in 2017. (I had the opportunity to listen - again in 2017, 2 months before Chester's death, but that's history for another article). All Points East 2019
(London - UK - 05/25/2019)
In addition to being an unforgettable Festival, it was the best Festival of my life, and several factors contributed to this event, to start the festival would be held in London, a place I always dreamed of visiting, another factor was the perfect Line Up for my taste musical, names in the lineup like The Strokes, The Raconteurs, Interpol, Johnny Marr, Parquet Courts, Javis Cocker, Courtney Barnet, among other bands. The Strokes is my favorite band, and coincidentally, I had just moved to Portugal a month ago. When I heard about this festival I didn't think twice, I took the first plane on Saturday leaving Lisbon going to London, left my things at the hostel and went quickly to the festival to get the first row of the stage. Right when I arrived at the Festival I had already realized that people and the environment was different, it was all very intense, two bands in the early afternoon started playing and the crowd was jumping and singing together, at that moment I had already met people from different countries who are great friends of mine today, I was extremely fortunate to meet the band Parquet Courts that day, a band I'm a fan of today, after Parquet Courts started playing Johnny Marr, a guitar hero, I heard several The Smiths classics live as example “Bigmouth Strikes Again”, “How Soon Is Now?”, “This Charming Man”, “There Is a Light That Never Goes Out”, which was just perfect, I heard The Smiths my whole life and when it started playing live, tears were inevitable, after Johnny Marr we had The Raconteurs band that I thought I would never watch live, because apparently the band was over, and I managed to hear great hits like “Steady, as She Goes Jack White was super excited, I've had the opportunity to see a solo show of Jack White at Lollapalooza Brazil 2015 and one thing we can not disagree, this guy know much about music, just perfect all compositions. After The Raconteurs came the big expected show of the night, The Strokes, it was a mixture of emotions that made that show the best show of my life, the city was perfect, the people were very excited, the band that came back from a long period without a show, it was 2 hours singing all the songs with a chorus with the crowd, the lineup was basically composed of the albums but we were like “Is This It” considered one of the best albums of all time, “Room on Fire” and “First Impression of Earth ”(https://www.setlist.fm/setlist/the-strokes/2019/victoria-park-london-england-1b9075f0.html).
And for you? What shows / festivals will you never forget?
