Lollapalooza Argentina, Brazil and Chile drop the lineups
The three Lollapalooza Festivals in South America have revealed the lineup for next summer. Leading the bill are Arctic Monkeys, Kendrick Lamar and Twenty One Pilots. The first festivals to take place are in Argentina and Chile, from March 29-31 and in Brazil the event will take place the following weekend, April, 5-7.
Joining the three headliners are Post Malone, Lenny Kravitz, Sam Smith, The 1975, St. Vincent, Interpol, Dimitri Vegas & Like Mike, Steve Aoki, Tiësto, Macklemore, Snow Patrol, Odesza, Foals, Bring Me The Horizon, RL Grime and many more.
Caetano Veloso is also set to perform in Argentina and Chile with Moreno, Zeca and Tom Veloso. He is not included in the brazilian edition however in São Paulo, the Tribalistas, Gabriel O Pensador, Silva and Liniker e os Caramelows are playing. In Argentina, Lollapalooza include Fito Paez, La Mona Jimenez, Vicentico and Jorge Drexler. In Chile you can see Juanes, Ziggy Marley, Ana Tijoux, Monsieur Periné and Tokyo Ska Paradise Orchestra.
Lollapalooza first started in 1991 by the hands of Jane's Addiction vocalist Perry Farrell. He intended to present a farewell tour for his band. The event turned into an annual festival until 1997 and in 2003 was organized again until in 2005 becoming an annual music festival taking place in Chicago. Since 2010, the event internationalized and started being held in Santiago, Buenos Aires, São Paulo and more recently Berlin and Paris. In 2019, Stockholm will host the first Lollapalooza edition.
