of Dinosaur Jr, Aphex Twin, Luke Slater, The Moldy Peaches, Giant Sand, The Delgados, Cat Power, Marco Carola, Chilly Gonzales, Camera Obscura
, Green Velvet
and many others.
At this time, the festival was being held in another area of the city of Barcelona. The event was taking place at Poble Espanyol and in the year 2002 attracted about 20,000 people. It was the first year that non-musical performances were also in the programme.Primavera Sound,
which in the first year presented an electronic and techno sound, started here to diversify its style, which has always been around independent music, mixing international artists with local artists. At the time the festival presented itself as an urban event that could be attended by bus or metro and that focused mainly on music.
