Woodstock Festival returns in 2019
The owners of the Woodstock Festival name announced that there will be a new Woodstock Festival this year to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the iconic edition lead by Jimi Hendrix, The Who, Bob Dylan, Jefferson Airplane and others.
The Woodstock Festival will take place in August, 16-18 at the Watkins Glen speedway, in upstate New York, just about 150 miles away another music festival that was announced last month as a Woodstock tribute festival. On this weekend, there will be the Woodstock Festival at Watkins Glen and the Bethel Woods Music and Culture Festival at the historic site of the 1969 Woodstock festival.
The 50th annivesary of the Woodstock Festival will feature three stages and more than 60 bands playing across the weekend. The lineup will be revealed in February. The event will also offer camping, luxury glamping, art installations, film screening and plenty of high-end food and beverage offerings.
"The Woodstock 50th Anniversary will be about sharing an experience with great artists and encouraging people to get educated and involved in the social issues impacting everyone on the planet,” said Lang. “It’s so inspiring to see young people today channeling their passion into causes they care about. That’s something that’s always been a part of Woodstock’s mission, and it’s a big focus at the 50th festival.”
More details of both festivals will be announced soon.
